SMARTETANCHE (Roof)

SMARTETANCHE is a mono-component powder mortar, white in color, based on natural lime. This material is ideal for waterproofing roofs to withstand high hydrostatic pressure and plug holes so no leaks occur. With our product, and its correct application, we offer full assurance of no water passing through and damaging the roof. This solution is to combat adverse weather conditions as well as provide insulative properties; the white colour of the cured coating will reflect UV and ultimately keep your property cooler, assisting in saving on energy bills.

The product contains special binders and additives, which enable optimum adhesion for waterproofing work on roofs and exposed walls. SMARTETANCHE is characterized by it's high flexibility and resistance to pressure and hydrostatic counter-pressure. The application is extremely simple:

1. Dilute the 20kg bag in 20l of water.
2. Mix using a mechanical stirrer for a maximum of 2 minutes (at low sheer) until a lump-free paste is obtained. Re-mix every time before spreading on the support.
3. Let it stand for 5 minutes prior to application.
4. Clean the area where the material will be applied; remove dust, sand, gravel, soil, and grease. It would be preferable to moisten the support before application. The roof must be structurally sounds and have mechanical resistance and high compressive strength (as you'd expect from a concrete substrate)..
5. Spread the SMARTETANCHE mixture on the roof and spread using a roller or squeegee (in both horizontal and vertical movements) to obtain a coat thickness of 1 or 2 mm. Ensure to penetrate the mixture into the pores and crevices.
6. Apply second coat, in opposite direction (crossed layer) after the first coat has dried.

To be followed:

• Do not apply on bituminous substrates
• Second coating should be applied after the first has fully cured (4-6 hour drying time)
• If cracks exist on the support, use SMARTOPRET CACHET ROUGE or SMARTREP to seal them prior to application of SMARTETANCHE
