Lime-based coating for plaster walls to protect from moisture/water damage

We boast a range of lime-based products, to be mixed with water, comprising mineral fillers and strong organic binders which enable high strength adhesion. The fillers and coating will absorb moisture to respire through the paint, thus allowing water to be released. This function ensures no moisture is trapped in the pores of the concrete and between layers of dense polymers which create dampness resulting in air bubbles forming behind the paint and the creation of perfect conditions for fungus to thrive in.

The products can be applied directly onto the substrate with ease, using a blade or spray / Tyrolean machine depending on the surface area to be covered and project requirements. Dampening the support can be beneficial for the primary coat, to induce higher strength adhesion. Depending on the substrate to be coated, an AMA representative can propose the correct material / combination of materials. As a general rule:

  • S-PRO is for coating masonry (blockwork) and can be applied with unlimited thickness. It is a coarse and dense material which provides a rustic finish (venetian plaster). S-PRO effectively eliminates the need for cement plastering.
  • SMARTOPRET CACHET ROUGE for coating plaster walls, pre-paint. This material is ideal for surfaces which are relatively smooth and only levelling / waterproofing is required.

Our lime based, eco-friendly, materials for enhancing structural integrity and keeping substrates healthy are highly successful in protecting walls from dampness, moderate seepage, humidity, and flooding. Through keeping the wall / ceiling dry, the likelihood of concrete cracks and fungal growth remains low. The practice of coating the walls with SMARTBAT products means no maintenance is required again for many years.
